Karen Kelogg
Karen Kellogg, CPA, a native of Ohio, is currently the firm’s Tax Manager. She began her career as a Cost Accountant and Internal Auditor for Republic Steel in Cleveland. After obtaining her CPA, she joined a local CPA firm and specialized in personal and business taxes. She then established her own practice for 14 years in Cleveland and had a niche market in estates, trusts, and not-for-profit organizations, as well as corporate and individual taxation.
She merged her practice with another local Cleveland CPA firm where she continued to represent her clients including the not-for-profit sector where she prepared financial statement compilations, reviews, and audit engagements.
When her husband relocated to Western New York in 2007, her desire to continue her public accounting career here led her to Philipps and Brooks CPAs. She brings her experience to help individuals, businesses, and not-for-profits navigate through taxes, accounting, and tax planning opportunities.
Education:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting,
Cleveland State University, 1979.
Karen is the treasurer and member of the East Aurora Rotary Club Foundation. She is the past Chairperson and board member of the Greater East Aurora Chamber of Commerce. She lives with her husband and two kitties in East Aurora and enjoys taking to the golf links here in Western New York. I enjoy working with my fellow colleagues at Philipps and Brooks who work together to provide a positive, fun environment in a serious, intensive business. My personal joy comes from helping our clients navigate through the crazy world of taxes, tax agencies, and the challenges they face owning businesses and operating not-for-profits here in the community.
